Milan Menswear: Costume National Fall 2010

This season, Ennio Capasa did the suit, and did he ever. With his background at Yohji Yamamoto, Capasa represents the distillation of the perfect combination of Italian tailoring and Japanese minimalism. The suits appealed to one and all: the colors were dark and sombre; the stances were low, revealing slim-fitting turtlenecks and bare chests; and the lapels came in all forms – notch, peak, and shawl. Be it single- or double-breasted, Capasa’s comprehensive take on suits gives this season’s suit an inexplicably modern feeling.
